I was born in Louisa, Virginia and grew up in Orange, Virginia. I am thankful that my dear mother allowed me to attend church during my youth. At the age of thirteen I was invited to Grace Baptist Church. After a few Sundays I realized I was a sinner and needed Christ to save me. In April of 1976 I received Christ as my Savior.
It was not long after that I began to serve God in that local church ministry. I started by using my voice to sing specials as well as to sing in the choir. I am thankful that I had a pastor who was willing to allow me to teach a Sunday School class at the age of sixteen. While there I was also the youth director. That was a great learning experience for me.
After graduating from high school in 1981, I thought the Lord would have me go into a business career, so I enrolled in a community college. It was not long after that God showed me He had another "business" for me. In the fall of 1982, I surrendered to do His will and enrolled at Atlantic Baptist Bible College in Chester, Virginia. I graduated in May of 1988 with a B.A. in Pastoral Theology.
While at college, I met my dear wife, Lauri, who was a PK (preacher's kid). She had two years of training in Elementary Education while at ABBC. We were married in August of 1988 and God has blessed us with four wonderful children: Amber, Foster, Evan, and Benjamin. My wife has been a tremendous blessing to me in the ministry.
For eight-and-a-half years, I served as Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Fulks Run, Virginia. In July of 2000, God led us here to Bible Baptist Church. We have found Bible Baptist Church to be a wonderful church with a heart for God.
